King Luu

King Luu is a Ghanaian filmmaker, producer, and director known for his innovative contributions to film, music videos, and television. He started his career in local productions as an actor and art designer before transitioning to directing. A graduate of Ghanata College of Art, King Luu has directed over 100 music videos for artists such as Buk-Bak, Wanlov the Kubolor, and Wunmi.

He’s on of the founders of LUU VISION MEDIA, producing TV commercials, programs, and documentaries for major brands like GLO, Puma and the NFL. Along with Ghana’s first feature film The Fisherman to premiere at The Venice Biennale Film festival winning the Fellini Medal from UNESCO.

He directed Rappolitics, the first Hiplife documentary featuring Chicago, Buk-Bak, Nkasei, Ex-Doe, Talking Drums and HLX (Hiplife X-clusive), a second documentary on Hiplife featuring Obrafuor, Okomfuor, Nkasei, D’Lawa & Reggie Rockstone.

His feature directorial debut, Coz Ov Moni, the world’s first Pidgin musical theatrically released, gained international acclaim, with a sequel released in 2013. He produced and directed the first Ghanaian highly acclaimed musical cypher, DJ Black Cypher with the award winning DJ Black, and Fontomfrom TV.

King Luu also worked on notable projects like Akon’s Mama Africa video, the award-winning Beasts of No Nation, Netflix and the documentary Boys from Bukom, highlighting Ghana's boxing culture.

With a career spanning decades, King Luu remains a creative force in Ghana’s entertainment industry.
